Samsung Galaxy S III to have a 4.6″ Super AMOLED Plus HD display

The Samsung Galaxy S III will have a 4.6″ Super AMOLED Plus HD display according to digitmes.
The SGS III display is confirmed to be 4.6″, and sport 1280×720 pixels of resolution, which will peg the pixel density at 319ppi.
For example the Galaxy S II us using a 4.3” Super AMOLED and sports 480×800 resolution, wich is using a pixel density of 217ppi.

So this will be the first HD Super AMOLED screen with true RGB matrix
We can’t wait to see this screen!

Samsung has planned this high-end phone for Q2 / Q3 .
Samsung’s Galaxy S III event will be somewhere in May.

Android 4 ICS (ice cream sandwich) Update

In Korea a ICS / Android 4 update has been found!

As we all know ICS is soon going to be released for the Samsung Galaxy SII & Korea (homeland of Samsung) seemed to get they're Android 4.0.3 update today as it was said they should've had it since March 1st...but today was the release day for the model SHW-M250K.

Samsung Confirm: Galaxy S II ICS 4.0.3 Update Coming to UK Next week

There seems to be a ICS update for Nordic Countries (Iceland etc.), Poland, Baltic & Hungary!

"Samsung UK can confirm that the roll out of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on Galaxy S II will be available from week commencing 19t March, However the availability of software upgrades in the UK will be dependent upon each network's own software approvals process."

The ROM Build Code XA counts for the following: Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom
That could mean, if UK gets it maybe the other 6 country's will be available aswell?!


You can still update via Odin using a downloaded firmware (on own risk so) or wait for Kies (Samsung official prog.)

Android 4 / ICS update release SAMSUNG GALAXY SII

The long-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Galaxy S II will be available on March 10th, Samsung's official website has revealed. You'll need Kies 2.0 in order to execute the update. Looking through the Samsung FAQ, we see a number of predictable feature additions like Face Unlock and Android Beam as well as the mobile data usage tracker, all standard ICS features. The update to ICS will also drop support for Flash content, so bear that in mind if you're a big mobile Flash user. Samsung warns that some apps will have their settings reset and your homescreen layout will be lost, but otherwise most of your data will remain intact.
